#2 - Orders, Lifegroup & Heartsongs

Yesterday I spent the day running from place to place. The printer at f32 broke, as well as our office printer. Needless to say it was a day of trouble shooting and breaking down barriers with Walgreens workers and Office Depot print guys.

By the time I made it to my biweekly date to childcare, my eyes were about to close. I popped into Remedy and ran into barre to find that I could take class instead. (🙌🏼 small victories people)

I'm trying to enjoy the quiet times, and not hustle so much in the spaces in between. Being more invested in what's around me.

Later at lifegroup we mentioned that joy is a choice, not an emotion. There's something in that, that's resonated in me these last days.

Keightly loves to talk about John 10:10.

"I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

Meaning more of life, not necessarily this feeling of "happiness," but the spaces in between. The ones that are raw and real, that make you feel human. The fullness that reminds you who you were created to be.

#1 - Blackberry, Tacos & Princes

Thankful to have a job where I can explore the spectacular and eat at my favorite taco shop. Today I read stories that made my heart soar and long to spend every day counting my blessings.

I rode on a golf cart and wandered through Appalachian gardens at Blackberry Farms. I ended the day by watching The Little Prince.

Makes me think I should do more things that matter. And that maybe some people come into your life to show you how to remember.

"Growing up isn't the problem, forgetting is" - The Little Prince

Praying, praying, praying I don't forget. Never forget.

Tijuana, Baja Mexico

The next string of posts include friends I met through my church last year. I was interning in the college ministry, and set to go on my first-ever mission trip to Tijuana, in Baja Mexico.

Before working at Fellowship I didn't believe in short-term mission trips – equating them to 19th century imperialistic pursuits at their finest.  I don't love the way missions has gotten muddled with white supremacy and stripped nationalists of their beings. I do, however believe in Jesus. I believe that Bible is inherently God's voice, and I believe that He tells us to share what his son Jesus did for us. Whether that means right where I'm sitting or to the ends of the earth. Thus, missions are important - we've just messed it up like everything else.

Luckily at Fellowship, they share a lot of my same concerns.  Over the past years they've edified and strived to mirror the Bible' s truths in their actions. They've made friends all over the world that they've partnered with for years. It's not about fixing people and changing things, but learning from each other. Working with the same goal in mind and using one another's strengths.
